Company Tags
Overview
Section titled “Overview”In Keap, a contact can be assigned to a company, and companies can carry tags just like contacts. The Company Tags module lets members inherit the Keap tags of the company assigned to their contact record.
This is useful for company-wide or team memberships: apply the membership tag to the company once in Keap, and every contact assigned to that company gets access without being tagged individually.
Inherited company tags count for:
- Login – the membership level check. A contact without a membership tag of their own can log in if their company has one.
- Content protection – pages, posts and shortcodes protected by tags treat inherited tags like the contact’s own tags.
- Gradual release (drip content) – an inherited tag uses the date it was applied to the company. If the contact also has the tag themselves, their own assignment date is used.
Inherited tags exist only in the member’s iMEMBER360 session. They are never added to the contact in Keap, so Keap campaigns, reports and the contact record still show only the contact’s own tags.

-
In the iMEMBER360 Modules tabs click Company Tags.
-
Set Inherit Company Tags to Yes.
-

Click Save Settings.
To give a contact the tags of a company, assign the company to the contact in Keap. You can display the assigned company ID on your site with i4w_db_companyid.
When Company Tags Are Loaded
Section titled “When Company Tags Are Loaded”Company tags are loaded fresh from Keap whenever the member’s session is updated:
- when the member logs in
- when the member’s data is refreshed according to the Cache Refresh Frequency
- when iMEMBER360 is notified of a change to the member’s own contact record
On normal page loads no additional Keap API calls are made.
If Keap cannot be reached during a refresh, the previously inherited tags are kept, so a short outage does not revoke access.
Tags That Are Never Inherited
Section titled “Tags That Are Never Inherited”- The Site Ban Tag. Banning a company does not ban its contacts – apply the Site Ban Tag to the contact instead.
- Tags excluded with the
I4W_EXCLUDE_TAGSconstant inwp-config.php.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- Changes to the company only. When you add or remove a tag on the company, Keap notifies iMEMBER360 about the company, not about the contacts assigned to it. Members pick up the change on their next login or their next scheduled refresh. Any refresh of the member’s own record also reloads the company tags.
- Removing an inherited tag. If an action set or another integration removes an inherited tag from a member, it is only removed from the current session. The tag returns on the next refresh because it is still applied to the company. To revoke access permanently, remove the tag from the company in Keap, or remove the company from the contact.
- Disabling the module. Inherited tags are removed from a member’s session on their next login or refresh, not immediately.
